Chapter 8

Micah stood with his back against the counter and listened to the coffee gurgle and steam. He shoved his hands into the pocket of the jeans he’d slipped on before he came downstairs. He’d thrown on a t-shirt but hadn’t bothered to fasten the button on his trousers. Truth was he couldn’t—his rather large hard-on made it impossible.

Hell, he could hardly think about anything but Daisy’s face when she climaxed. Jesus, he thought she would never stop…it was the most beautiful thing he’d ever seen. Everything about her drove his imagination to distraction. Micah ran his hand through his already disheveled hair. Now he had to tell her why he’d come there in the first place. He’d already confirmed with Poppy that he could reveal his reasons for coming there. Now was the time

The light was just starting to emerge from the darkness and he looked at his gold wrist watch, it was five AM. He scrubbed his fingers over his face, the bristles rough against his hands. He was not looking forward to telling Daisy about Poppy.

It would go one of two ways—either she would love to meet her birth mother or would want nothing to do with her. He wasn’t sure which way it was going to go. But regardless, he guessed Daisy would not be happy with him.

He’d been married before and that hadn’t worked out too well. After she passed away Micah had decided he wouldn’t go down that road again. But with Daisy he wasn’t sure if he was as opposed to a relationship as he thought he was. That shocked him.

His mom and dad were happily married, he’d had a great childhood, good friends, and he suddenly realized that he was missing something permanent in his life.

He’d received word from Jack that he’d made contact with Rose, and Kent had just landed at the Manchester, UK airport. It was all coming together. He couldn’t imagine what it would be like to all of a sudden find out he had siblings, part of triplets no less. Daisy was in for a shock.

The silence in the room indicated the coffee had brewed and he turned, pulling two cups from the cupboard. Setting them on the table, he sat and waited for Daisy to appear, which she did just at that moment. He stood as she lingered in the doorway. She’d dressed, but her cheeks were still flushed, and those lips…hot damn, those lips were beautiful and rosy, looking thoroughly loved, and his hardness twitched at the sight of her.

Fuck, he’d only just got himself under control.

“I’ve made coffee.”

“Yes, I can see that.”

She pushed away from the door frame and pulled out a chair. He sat back down and wrapped his hands around the cup. He could feel her gaze on him and he looked up. He saw confusion, and he knew that he had to just tell her. It was the only way, and whatever was to come of it all, he wouldn’t stop seeing her, he wanted more, he wanted her.
